The McElvaney Recycling Intermediate Football Championship got underway last Saturday, when we hosted Doohamlet in a competitive Group Two opener. A slow start left us facing a 1-4 to 0-2 deficit at half-time, but an improved second-half performance saw us get back into it, with Conor McCrystal finding the net. Kevin Loughran, Dean Fanning, Neil McAdam and Dónal Hahessy were also on target, but Doohamlet were able to stay ahead throughout and they secured the two points on offer on a scoreline of 1-12 to 1-9.
