Our senior team features in the AM Hurley Junior championship final this Sunday in St. Tiernach's Park, Clones. This youthful squad has really come together at the right time- following the disappointment of missing out on qualification for the senior grade back in July the team went on to win three games out of three in the group stage of the junior championship. A first round win over this Sunday's opponents, Clontibret, saw a dangerous forward line put five goals on the scoreboard with Remy McKenna and Aidan Burns providing the scoring threat. In the second round, the lads traveled to face Castleblayney where a strong second half performance gave us a comfortable win. The group stages were complete with a comprehensive win over Latton. Following the disappointment of last years Development league final a lot of the players are still hungry for success- the mainstays of the team from that final will feature this Sunday with a few notable additions. Team captain, Conor Flynn, has shone throughout the championship so far along with Gavin Baxter and Dermot McMahon. The management team of Adrian Dalton, Patrick Meehan and John Hahessy have had difficult decisions for each and every game with a lot of quality featuring on the bench. The management team will be expecting a composed performance this Sunday and you would hope for the youthful energy of this attacking squad to see them come out with a victory.
